Hi all
Not exactly a tech (by a long stretch) but have started recapping and rebuilding some vintage solid state amps and have just in the last week or so realized that most of the transistor parts I have bought locally from Mantech and Communica are more than likely fakes.
Driven home by an email from Mantech the other day when I questioned the origins of their 2sc2240 and was told: "Oh it doesnt have a Toshiba logo and is probably fake" ...... hmmmm ok
SO have taken to finding all parts on RS for now.
Just wondering what experiences others have had...? It seems like fake components phenomenon is rather a big problem in the electronics industry.
