Fezz Equinox Tube Dac empowered by Lampizator.
What a beauty.
The Fezz Equinox brings a good amount of tube flavour to the sound, it's definitely got character and will suit someone looking to add more body and dimension to there sound. Compared to the other Dacs I tested it against it adds some body to instruments, a bit of added weight to the low end while also digging very deep into the Bass, so far its the best Dac I've heard next to a Theta for seriously good deep bass that doesn't blur the midrange at all. Imaging is very very good and sounstaging just takes on that 3D affect you usually get with tubes, there is good depth to the stage, where it really shines is the width of the soundstage, my room acoustics usually allow me a very nice wide soundstage but the Fezz just adds even more width and depth. Detail retrieval is good with a more softer top end that doesn't lack detail but doesn't highlight it or make it razor sharp either, it's a slightly more rounded top end but not warm or rolled off, just slightly softer on the ears.
I would say this Dac will work wonders in a system that may come across as cold or flat or to analytical. It will add body, dimension and a sound that gently strokes your emotions.
