Thinking of getting a portable music player that plays flac. A&K is just too expensive so best option right now seems to be the Fiio X3 or X5. X3 uses a wolfson dac and the x5 a Texas Instruments. Both look really nice but I'm leaning towards and X5. Any opinions or other options anybody can recommend?
Something else I thought I could do is buy a ADL X1 or similar and then use an iOS device to play through. The problem I see with that is that carrying two connected devices may be a pain.
Essentially will use it as a portable device and then secondary duty as a player / dac in my study.
