Bought this unit from Cuco and have been listening to it today on my DT770 Pro.

In the for sale thread there where questions on how it compares to the R2R 11. That is what I normally use on these headphones.

What struck me first switching from the R2R is that there was a greater sense of airiness and detail on the 29.38. That and figuring out the complex control interface. The unit is a lot bigger than the R2R and it also runs quite hot. Build quality is solid and inspires confidence.
It controls the bass better and instruments are better separated and defined. I also get a sense that timbre and reverb is handled better.
Sound is not as smooth as the R2R which sounds darker to me.

I like my R2R a lot so this is not a negative comment on that unit but rather that in my opinion the 29.38 is comparatively better. Probably not a fair comparison since the 29.38 is 2-3 times the price of the R2R.
