Lack of progress on the 1st G301 plinth spray job, and while sourcing the necessary components for the hide glue work-flow, I decided to start on the G301 plinth Nr.2. This one's for me.
I learned quite a few things during the 1st build, so, here:
Bigger armboard cutout, for easier and more flexible arm fitting:
Didn't use the Internet-standard cutout this time. Instead, I went for the no compromise minimum material removal / maximum contact:
Play time! The plinth is still in individual layers. Corner radiusing and glueing of layers will happen later. I'm staying with 2-part concept, it sounds GREAT. Bass is enormous, even from the ESLs! Then again, maybe vintage AT-P16T arm, Jelco magnesium headshell, and the 80s AT-OC5 MC cart have something to do with it too.
Now playing (180g collector's editions):
Audioslave is translucent blue 2LP set - Winslow, chicks are definitely falling for this! oint:
"Let's go to my place and listen to some LPs?" wins over "Let's go to my place and listen to computer stream...?" without any doubt, guaranteed.
