For the longest time me and a couple of hi-fi enthusiast friends have been toying with the idea to establish a hi-fi club in Gauteng with the goal to act as a platform with clear interavtion between like-minded enthusiasts.
I have done market research and also spoke to Jozua Hugo, the chairman of the Cape Town Hi-Fi Club, about the in's and out's.
The goals of such a club or guild should include:
Since Gauteng is a big place, we need to look at Chapters for the various regions within Gauteng.
This was a morning at HFX Systems with a couple of friends - earlier in May 2023
The Sonus Faber system was also a treat.
We were treated to listening to the new mega Boulder and Wilson Audio system in the main showroom.

- Get-together on a Saturday morning for a bit of listening and socialising
- Technical talks and support
- Possible gear time-sharing and rental (such as amplifiers, record cleaners and LP flatners)
- Reel-to-Reel enthusiasts for sharing tapes and tales
- Breakfast runs and vinyl/hi-fi fairs (Gauteng need more diverse fairs that include other stereo formats such as cassettes, RTRs and Compact Discs)
- Teams/Zoom meetings with focussed topics
- Local member system visits/showcases
- Manufacturer visits
- Shop visits such as HFX Systems (in example)

- Johannesburg Central, North, South, East
- Pretoria East and North
- And other regions
