HDMI 1.1 Audio Passthrough (Rotel RSX 1057)

Hi,

Was looking at a few of these used receivers - and noticed in many forums etc they state no audio through the HDMI?
Is it possible for HDMI to not carry an audio signal?

Specifically - anyone with this amp maybe tried and confirm 100%?
