Help selecting Media Box...

Hello All,

Hope you all well.

I am currently looking for a media player that can do the following

1) play 4k media (movies) from an External HDD
2) Pass-through 7.1  DolbyAtmos/DTS:X

There are many that can do 4k without issue but when it comes to Lossless 7.1 Dolby HD/DTS HD pass-through becomes unclear. I would be doing this through app such as KODI. I currently have an Xbox S but other than Netflix and Blu Ray app it won't allow Audio pass-through using PLEX/KODI etc...

I know that Nvidia Shield does most but for the price it seems overkill for what I want to use it for. I don't need DSTV Now, Netflix/Amazon as my Xbox can do these without issues.

Any other recommendations as a cheaper alternative that other members are using for this type of use?
