Ok, we all know this is a no no :nono: ... Switch off/unplug all power, before plugging in any HDMI, or to be safe most things really. BUUUTT... what about the hdmi on the front panel? Surely it would defeat the object if this rule applied to this too? What makes this socket so special (or is it really), or am I taking a risk every time I use it? The same counts for USB - why do I 'need' to "safely remove" my device from a PC, but am confident to just pull it out from any AV device?
