I am thinking of getting one of their universal remotes, but have doubts that it will be able to work the way I want it to.
As I understand it, you have to connect the remote to your computer and then tell them what devices you have. They then apparently upload a bunch of macro codes and what not to your device , so when you push something like "Watch DVD" it switches on the TV, DVD player and AVR. Right?
So what happens if I want to watch a DVD but instead of listening through the AVR I only want to use the TV speakers? Does the Harmony give me the ability to chose those kinds of options? What about if I want to switch between Stereo/DTS/5.1 on the AVR while watching a movie? Can I do that?
I guess I need to know if their remotes will give me the same functionality as the original remotes?
