So two years ago, I bought a second hand Samson S1000 power amp.
Before purchasing it was understood that it needed a service: biasing, recapping etc.
At the time I took it to a well-known & trusted repairer (as recommended by the forum) who reconditioned it - and it worked well thereafter.
Two years later however, it has developed a bad hum.

Am I expecting too much that a complete service of an amp should keep it in prime spec for more than just two years?
If the reconditioning brief was a full service: surely everything that was out of spec should have been replaced?
Do I simply know very little about how very much can go wrong with these things, and this frequency of servicing is normal and par for the course with older gear?
Should I look for an alternate reparier, or are amps like old cars, and simply need regular servicing, and thus I can safely stick with the well-known original repairer?

Thanks for your inputs.
