How to connect Ipod to Dac

I am confused, I want to listen to a song on the Ipod via my Dac, I have a Micromega Dac, with only 1 digital in and 1 (L&R) out...this I understand,,,, I run one digital cable from the CDP to the dac. then 2 out of the dac and into the aux input on the amp....all works fine
Now I am standing with the Ipod in my hand, not sure how to physically connect it, Is this possible via the earphone out jack into a single RCA?, but then it is stereo into a single mono rca plug, is it not?
I have an array of cables and connectors...but none makes sense
