So my setup as follows:
Front: B&W 683 S2
Center: B&W HTM62 S2
Sub: Canton AS50
AV: Marantz SR5012
For stereo audio listening I can tell that the 683's are very power hungry and I had initially looked at adding a Marantz MM7025. But then I wasn't sure if that would be worth it compared to the SR5012's power output.
I then dreamed of adding a Rotel RB-1582II but lately I feel that I am not happy with the center sound when watching movies, it sort of sounds muffled. I am not sure if it's the bad acoustics in my living room and I played around a lot with sound settings, also through the Audyssey MultiEQ app but with no satisfying end results.
That made me think if perhaps even the HTM62 S2 needs more power and adding a 5 channel power amp would be wiser as I eventually want to add rear speakers as well.
That brings me to the Marantz MM7055. But even with that I am not sure if forking out 36k will deliver the expected results.
What do you guys think?
Or would the SR5012 free up enough power if it only has to drive the center?
