Firstly, I don't have millions to invest. But I do want to start somewhere.
I'm thinking of investing like follows:
R1000 in Gold
R1000 in Platinum
R1000 in MTN
and R1000 in something like the Satrix 20 or 30 or whatever it is called.
I do not know if there are minimum amounts that you may invest. Is it even possible to buy only R1000 worth of gold in the first place?
I do not expect instant huge returns. This is not the intention of this exercise. I see this as a long term investment. 15 years at least, if I can be so lucky to live so long.
What is the easiest and most safe way to do this? What companies can I trust 100% with this? Can I do everything online? At this stage I do not want to make monthly contributions. I use all my spare money to put extra in my dept every month. Once all my dept is settled, I will possibly consider monthly investment installments.
