Hello fellow forumites.

I have a crown XTI 1000 doing sub amp duty and in a bout of stupidity I turned up the volume dial from it's regular 25% to 80% very quickly to give a friend a fright, all I did was manage to re-afffirm that I can be a prize A moron as the amp made a small popping sound (sounded like a fuse dying) as it lost all power.

Subsequently, I have opened it up, and everything looks 100% perfect, no dead caps or anything I can see. I took out the fuse and tested it with a voltmeter and seemingly the fuse is OK (my volt meter is on the fritz to be 100% sure I tested the amp again without the fuse but with a wire instead), and I get the same result. The amp will not turn on, no power lights or any indicators at all. I also tested power coming from the kettle socket and thats fine.

Is there anything more I can rest and look at? Otherwise, I have some friends here with me (in Tanzania) for the week, I will package it off and send it back to SA with them for repairs...

In summary, I can a flipping idiot at times! I am kicking myself VERY hard for my stupidity!
