Is it true that used equipment needs to be run in?

I've heard that when you buy used euipment and bring it home, it needs to be run in. Can this be true?

Almost like the socialising process when animals are introduced to a new heard.

But unlike brand new speakers, apparently you have to start very aggresive right from the beginning so the euipment can get used to each other?

I've made a substantial upgrade with my amplifier, and I guess fi the above is true I must warn my neighbours  :EGrin:
