Is the current generation the one that will finally lose music of the 50s-90s?

I deal with staff that range from their early 20s to mid 30s everyday.  When travelling to clients in my car they're sometimes subjected to music I know well/ have grown up with and often times they've never heard the song or artist (occasionally they even like the music :???:).  If we get chatting about music it quickly becomes obvious we're worlds apart - whilst I may have some limited knowledge of artists they're listening to they've mostly never heard of the artists I mention, and I'm talking about artists like Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison, Supertramp, Uriah Heep, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Dire Straits, Jim Croce, Jackson Browne, The Carpenters, Blue Oyster Cult, John Mellencamp, Foreigner, Michael Franks, Chris De Burgh, Rodriguez, Earl Klugh, George Benson, Rod Stewart, Elvis etc. ...

The fact that in their 20s to mid thirties they're oblivious to these artists has me wondering, have we reached that point where all the stuff that the baby boomers and their kids, and their predecessors listened to is destined for the trashcan of musical history?
