Just sent my analogue front-end to new heights!
Yesterday I began to re-wire my SME arm & Fidelity Research SUT with some Van Den Hul Flexicon B4. I actually had a short run already on the arm. This is removed and installed on the FR SUT (discarding the traditional co-ax). Then I installed a 1 meter set on the arm (left over from a previous job).
"Wow"! The noise-floor dropped a significant few dBs. When I finished rigging the arm and SUT I switched on the phono-stage and cranked the volume full tilt. At first I thought there must be a short as it is virtually dead quiet. Then I popped on a record and the magic began.
A worth-while upgrade!
