Collected these today in as good as new condition not a mark chip or scratch.
The grill cloths look like they left the factory yesterday.
1990 vintage amazing still has the paper labels on the back signed by the checkers at the factory.
Dusted them off oiled the Cabs gave them a go with the micro fiber cloth and a spot of Mr. Min. Cant believe it.
How do they sound well one word will suffice or maybe two, Friggen Great.
Have spent quite a long time pondering, researching and listening to speakers that will play well with low watt valve amps not flea power cant afford those beasts wish I could. The results have been interesting if somewhat confusing most of the time the specs often mean nothing. The journey has taught me a lot about speaker and amp matching.
The requirements were a speaker that holds its self together at low volumes not interested how it sounds loud it must sound good soft as well.
These guys fit the bill have not found one negative about them on the net so when they popped up I made a plan, glad I did. Might have paid a spot to much but when you are talking R2,900 what is a spot.
They are at the moment playing some smooth jazz at a very low volume the Line Magnetic Amp volume knob is at 6.15 in triode 12w and they are simply singing I think I have found what I was looking for.
These are keepers for sure rather special they are. I see Titanium tweeter kits are available as well as cross over upgrade kits :thinking:
Not sorry the B&W 303's have gone they were the best I had found to date these are so so much more of a speaker.
Oh yes they can also Rock like hell they are Klipsh's after all.
That Horn tweeter, bright I do not think so open clear and transparent more like it has something it certainly has.
B&W's can be bright so can Paradigm's these are not bright like those can be.
