I need some advice on the following please. If I connect my laptop to the AVR via HDMI and there is a HDMI out to TV (from the AVR) then I only get picture and no sound? I checked the settings and the manual but still cannot get sound - unless I miss something?
It works if I connect the HDMI directly to the TV from the laptop and then optical back to the AVR audio input, so picture is direct from laptop but sound goes through the tv to AVR.
Surely some sound quality must be lost if it runs through the tv instead of directly to the AVR? Or is this the only way?
