I just ordered some output valves from Mr Valve - and realised that I should replace my rectifier valve as well. I could end up killing the new valves - by using an old rectifier?
If this is the case - does anyone have a 5AR4 that they want to get rid of?
The right hand side channel starts crackling after about 5-10 minutes of play time. I am hoping that the new output valves would sort this issue out. Is there anything else I should be considering?
The trio has the following valves:
5AR4: 1
6BM8 : 4 (purchased new)
6AL5: 1
6AQ8: 2
6AU6: 1
6BA6: 3
6BE6: 2
6DA5/EM81: 2
12AX7: 3
OA79: 1
