Linn Majik CD laser repair

Hi, my Linn Majik CD's laser appears to be going. Does anyone know whether this can be repaired locally. It appears I would have to send to the UK to Linn itself to get repaired, however the shipping and other costs are prohibitive so would like to know if anyone has a local option for this.
