I have inadvertently posted this in the FS DIY & for sale section, so here it is again..
I bought these speakers in 2012, they were excess stock/demo units. Model LS6000
They have been mounted in the ceiling as surrounds all these years and I never bothered with them, until recently.
I thought that they would be much more useful as a bookshelf speaker than doing minimal work as surrounds.
There is conflicting information regarding the depth, so this is turning out to be a trial and error project.
I started by making a “test” enclosure that is 140mm deep so that I can make the back panel adjustable for the depth. At 86mm from the inside front panel to the inside of the back panel it sounds really good. It will sound a lot better with internal damping and a sealed cab, but as I said, this is just for testing the depth.
Has anyone here done this exercise before? I would really appreciate some help.
