I've had a Logitech Z-5500 system doing HT service in my bedroom since about 2006... and had always rated it very highly until recently.
Now upgradeitis has struck....
On the one hand, I'm considering selling it off and putting in a mid-range AVR with something along the lines of a Wharfedale Diamond 10 HT setup... I obviously just need to be careful with my AVR pairing with the wharfedales, as they can sound very veiled.
Alternatively, I've read that a couple of guys replace the satellites on the Z-5500 with decent bookshelves (that actually have tweeters) and that this makes a pronounced difference. The Z-5500 sub is quite respectable, and the controller can push 50W per channel to the satellites, which should be adequate for a relatively sensitive set of bookshelves.
Has anyone tried this route or been in this boat before? Any recommendations?
Thanks!!
Philip
