I am currently looking to upgrade my speakers or even completely replace my current system if need be for something with a little more oooomph.

budget is +- R12000 and the cash from the RX2 sale if i do just a speaker upgrade or R12000 plus cash from sale of all gear if i decide to replace the whole system.
The space where the hi Fi is placed is open plan and the listening position is in free space very close to the speakers +- 2 meters because of this the current speakers seem to be a bit lost and just lack the bass weight i want.
Any info and ideas would be appreciated.
system needs to be good with most musical types.
