My main Hi Fi is a Yamaha AS1000 into the Monitor Audio RX8. It sounds great at all but really loud listening levels and I mean that I can tend to go way too high. The sound delivery at low listening levels are impressive.
What type of setup shoud I look at to replicate the same low volume sound quality that this delivers for a room set up - where the music is in the background, but with the richness of a large system.
I did listen to a Bose bedside system - not impressed for the money.
My Technics/Monitor Acoustics doesn't quite cut it a low volume - sounds flat. Its probably due to the speakers which I have found need a big amp, 89db sensetivity and 8ohm.
This is a classic case of a mismatched amp and speaker.
