LP12 motor replacement

Hi

My old LP12 (serial 2228) has the original PSU (with big red neon power button) and motor (MB01with big red neon power button). I was looking at a Hercules upgrade, but need a newer motor as well (old MB01 model fitted, and dated 1973).

What are my options for replacing the motor? Would a newer Linn motor work with the old PSU? I might have to hang on to that one for somewhat longer, after the events of December 2015.
