So now I have a legend.... alas only one panel works (the rebuilt one).
I have managed to find 18 breaks in the 7 remaining panels. The ants really had a royal shiiiity time
. There are only two 1cm and 5cm breaks, the rest are <1mm ones
I have found information on fixing the wires by soldering them again (isolating them from the membrane of course). Also how to rewire etc.
I will contact Magnepan for repair kits
BUT I want to also try locally
I need to find source and buy:
Aluminum wire,
The correct solder
A chemical to remove the thin layer of isolation from the wire
UV protecting spray
I have the 3M glue
I will definitely NOT rewire the complete panel... I think the costs might be prohibitive ?
