On the Merlins ...played around with the Stingray II vs Leben and Transparent Audio Musicwave Super vs Cardas Golden Reference sp cable the past two weeks .
Usually I can sort things out quickly and are pretty good at getting the best out of components and combinations...Reference used to be the Manley and Cardas.Siemens ECC 81 ,Siemens ECC801s and Telefunken ECC81s the reference tubes in the Manley.Then got the Transparent and then the Leben..
Now have the three combinations:
Leben and Transparent
Manley and Transparent
Leben and Cardas
The differences are there ,but it is extremely difficult for me to determine which I prefer :nfi:
Leben ...beautiful balance of sound .Neutral.
Manley ...dynamics ,slam,soundstage,forwardness.Sense of real power,yet do the delicate stuff beautiful too...
Anyway, what it comes down to is that all four components are real quality components .
Been in the game for 25 years and stereo audio remains a fascinating experience ... :thumbs:
