My father purchased these earlier in the year and they are both partnered with B&W 803 Nautilus speakers. (1st series of the 803 Nautilus) Speaker cable is Transparent Super.

Initial thoughts were that the amplifier was underpowered and lacked body.

Well, I have just come to visit my father and after a six month gap listening to the system, there is a massive improvement. The tonal balance is now correct as it was sounding very bright when new. The bass has filled out and is now tuneful. The music has a richness that was lacking before and the there is far more subtlety to the music.

I have owned several Marantz components from new and all took close to 300 hours to run in. I don't buy the story that your ears just become accustomed to the sound as I had a 6 month gap in listening to the system.

Moral of the story, I think too many people give up too quick with new components and don't allow enough time for the components to settle down.
