I've been considering getting a device to help with MDF dust extraction. This will be used when routing driver holes and minimal speaker enclosure edge trimming on MDF. I cannot afford nor accommodate those industrial-sized system that take up took much space and though something like this might be appropriate:
I saw one at Builders Warehouse the other day for R800 which I thought was expensive for what essentially seems like a plastic bucket with a dog blacket for a filter. I can however get it slightly used for about half the price. Has anybody got any experience with these? I will be using it very infrequently, probably about two to three times in a year to filter MDF dust.
I've seen others systems, called "cyclone separators", that look like this.
There are even DIY guides on the net on how to make one of these. Is this better than the Triton one above, especially for fine MDF dust?
