Mede8er any good for digital audio playback?

Hey guys, as some of you might know I have given up on vinyl and CD's (no TT and no CD player/disc player of any sorts) so all I have left to listen to music now is my trusty Mede8er/laptop. Is the Mede8er any good with playback of digital music? Is there something else I should consider as an add-on at a later stage?

Perhaps I could go the iPod route a little later (when I have funds for this) or should I rather stick with the Mede8er for now?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks
