Hi All
Someone asked me yesterday regarding the most basic facilities he would need to rip vinyl to CD-R.
He has a laptop, a cheapo turntable and a pair of unknown speakers.
I explained to him that his cheap turntable will render 'cheap' sound but this apparently doesn't matter.
I presume he has a generic RealTek soundcard lurking in his laptop so this will have to do for now.
The person also has no amp and I explained to him that signals from a cartridge are very low - ie not line level and computers have no RIAA equalisation facilities.
What would be the most basic equipment required for recording and burning CD-R's he would need?
Cheers
