Some of you might remember a while back I complained here about the teef next door, his parties and flippen noise. You might also remember me posting my Onkyo/Mission setup as a trade or for sale. All in the name of revenge. Got my amp sold and got some goodies. Nothing fancy, but loud enough to piss him off.
So a few weeks ago...I got myself a pair of of QSL 15" tops for R800. They fitted with Selenium 15CV3 drivers, one tweeter wasnt good so repalced both with Hybrid HT20 compression drivers. Lacking a bit in the highs even before the Hybrids went in. I think the xovers need to be tweaked a bit. The one driver had a small cut in the cone, but since been sorted. A Hybrid AE-600 power amp giving me 300wrms per channel and a Numark CM100 mixer for R2500. Having difficulty in finding info on the power amp though. All it says on it is Aerial Empire Components and the model no is AE-600. Plays fn loud, and pushes these QSL's nicely. Had it out 2 weekends ago. Neighbor wasnt impressed with the heavy metal at all. Politely told him everytime he has a party with his JVC boombox, Im going to set this up and play it all flippen night long. This bra wasnt impressed at all. I mean he really wasnt impressed. Swore my mother and god knows who else. Following weekend he had another party....wasnt to loud, but still annoying. Took my stuff...set it up outside next to the wall and let it rip. A few mins later he was in the yard asking why am I being such a P. Now if any of you know a colored aunty, then that is my wife. Said for so many years we have been asking him to consider those around him over weekends, without any results. Dragged law enforcement, SAPS, the mayor all into this, and still nothing. So now its time for payback.
Long story short, we got him off the property and that was it. Last weekend...a party, but zero fn noise. It was such a pleasure and at the same time I was so dissapointed. Really smaaked to play it again.
Hopefully, he can now see what it is like. Im very tempted to take this stuff out one evening during the week, just to piss him off.
This plays nothing like a pair of decent home theatre speakers or system. Just fn loud, so takes a bit of getting used to. I am very tempted to get a dj controller, just to see if I still got what it takes. Albeit far from 2 turtables. Provided the Mrs says its okay. She already not happy with these damn QDL's standing here..
