I use MS XP Pro, Service Pack 3 and although I've used AVG, Panda, and other antivirus software before, I got fedup with all the spamming from bought antivirus programmes.
In recent months I have been using MS Security Essentials and yesterday and today, there were to MS updates and this morning, I found MS SE non responsive with a red icon on my toolbar.
Investigating a bit further, one can still scan with it but each time the icon reverts to red status.
Can you recommend any other free non-intrusive antivirus software besides AVG? Or should I again purchase one of the commercially available programmes?
