So I have been the lucky winner of helping my parents with their new home setup...
They have received a quote that the builder's friend's company or such supplied and it seems pretty steep for me!
Basically they want a 4/6 zone setup, with background music playing. And then the 1 TV room will have a nice HT setup in there.
The guys included a Russound KT2-C3S KIT (6 zone controller & 6 Keypads) in the quote for the multi zone control and then speakers (Inceiling) and such for the zones and a quote then on the HT TV room.
What I'm thinking.
- Leave the Russound KT2-C3S kit out, use Sonos to do the multi zone part of things, way cheaper, and should be easier to use for the parents as they aren't the most "technologically savvy" people out there. :whistler:
- Sonos might not be inceiling but I'm sure they will work great?
- Perhaps then use some tablets or ipods etc in every room instead of a touch pad if they want it and don't want to only use their phones?
- Use the following as the HT setup

and
http://www.audicoonline.co.za/Package-Specials/Polk-RTi-A9-speaker-package?sort=rating&order=DESC
Also, the total installation costs is around R9000, couldn't I ask them to simply put the cables in and wall for the TV room, and then leave the Sonos part out, so I can put those wherever?
Does anyone have any experience with Sonos for multiroom based on sound quality etc?
I'd appreciate any help/opinions/suggestions and if this is in the wrong category, could the right people please move it?
