I've had this one running for a while and have been meaning to post pics of it but never got around to it. Now that it's been sold I figured I should snap some pics, even if only for posterity's sake

I love these RCA's. Just have to remember where I got them...

Close up shot of the positive side of the regulator PCB. Here you can see no less than three active power devices per rail

And a shot of the pre-amp board. Yes, I went a little crazy with the boutique parts....

The whole setup

What really sets this one apart is two things:
1. The real high quality parts I used.
2. The power supply. This one is of my own design (although I guess nothing is really new these days). I'm using LM317's as constant current sources (no, they not pre-regulators) and this action is enhanced by using high powered FETs (DN2540's) as part of the constant current circuit. This is followed by a shunt regulator based on an AD817 opamp feeding a power BJT. The opamp reference is taken from another constant current source (man, I'm going loopy with the Fets here) feeding a precision band gap reference. The opamp's are also bootstrapped by connecting their supplies to the output.

Here's a pic of the schematic for your perusal. Various elements of this floats around on the internets, but I don't think this combination has been tried before. But this is the internet, I'm sure anything is possible!!
