NAD 3020B MM/MC switch

I have a question.

I have had my NAD 3020B for a couple of years now and the back layout and diagram still confuses me.
When looking straight from the back at the amp how do I read the input diagram

Does the top row of the diagram indicate the row against the back panel of the amp?

I am trying to figure out to what position to toggle the MM/MC switch on the phono stage to set it to MM
