Nad pre and power amp set up

Good evening guys
I have a Nad 106 pre and a 2700 power amp. Due to space restrictions I had to separate them. They currently about 6m apart. I'm using standard off the shelf cables. Is this an ideal situation or if not what can I do to improve this given my space constraints. Cheers.
