Hey folks , for those who have nas devices at home using mainly for hometheatre streaming please could you share , what works best for you, had a resilver a couple of weeks back and another disk failed shortly after that, ending in replacing 2 disks in a raid 5 config,(4 year old hdd) was maybe expecting as resilver suppose increases workload on drives :nfi: ,also what hdd are prefered , seagate to me seem to be more reliable( 6 year old 5400rpm drives still going strong), all my failures were wd green , which are also suppose( speaking under correction) 5400 rpm drives ,are red drives worth the extra cash as warranty only 1 extra year. Power setting for hdd set to minimum power draw with NO spindown, my thinking is start and shutdown cycles put most strain on hdd . Using freenas 11 , and i really like it, anything better out there? Thanks
