Network players and DAC

Hi All. There's quite a list of music network players out there. Any of you have experience with them? How do they compare to PC/ Laptop into DAC? The Squeezebox Touch is one such; relatively cheap. But it requires its own server software unlike others from Cambridge, Marantz, Musical Fidelity that use UPnP software. And their built in DACs vs outboard DACs?
