Hi All
I've been busy in the workshop getting another Mars Stereo 70 amplifier out. I took some photos of the build:
I started with the preamp section first. There were a few different ways of doing the layout I wanted to try out.
The RCA inputs are as usual
I decided to move the grid leak resistors for the EL34's to the tube socket. Note the 270k resistor to ground.
Same on the other side
The ALPS blue pot
OPT anode leads connected
OPT screen grid leads connected, The 1k 5watt resistors are shrouded in heat shrink.
Cathode resistor bypass caps installed. New values are being used. (100uF 63V)
Power supply filter caps installed. This is a new feature that I would like to make standard in the kits from now on. This filter array can handle voltages up to 700V DC without damage.
I love this filter bank so much, I took more photos
I added a common mode inductor after the rectifier bridge
It is a bit of a spider's web around the input preamp tube!
Phase splitter top view
Amp done!
