Good evening guys and girls!
My Name is Francois... I was referrred to this forum by my local AV specialist shop's staff. Not sure if I may mention their name... so wont...
I just joined this forum recently, but have been dabbling with HiFi (or rather LowFi back then) since the mid 1980s. Having owned some Tempest and Telefunken systems back then, I have moved a notch or 2 over the many years.
My Current system consists of a Yamaha CDC-775 cd changer and a Yamaha BD-S681 Blu-Ray player, feeding signal into a Denon AVR-X2300W. This is connected to Klipsch R-26F towers, and a set of R-15M bookshelf speakers, as well as the R-15C center speaker. Video is handled by a Samsung 55" 4K LED TV.
My previous system built back in the late 1990s consisted of a Sony 6 head nicam stereo VHS, a LG DR165 DVD recorder, a Samsung DVD H40E HDD Recorder/DVD player and the Yamaha CDC-775, all connected to my beloved Yamaha RX-V496 amp, which is still around. This lot was connected to 4 Mission M73 towers and the M7C1 centre. These are also still around...
My study was rigged in a sort of Zone2 setup with the Yamaha (using the tape loop) feeding a Kenwood KA-1080 that drives 2 Wharfedale Modus Two bookshelf speakers.
Unfortunately, when I moved to my new property, the various systems could not be linked as before, so they will now each server their own respective rooms.
I joined this group to gather some wisdom and hopefully be able to build up a decent stereo for my study, working from the Kenwood KA-1080 up...
Wish list items would be a graphic eq, tape deck, CD and a TT, all from the late 1980s to mid 1990s.
I know very little about the decent quality TT and tape devices and will be doing as much reading and learning as I possibly can.
regards
Francois
