I recently acquired a Yamaha rx-a1020 from a forum member which I am extremely happy with.
The next step for me is to get my hands on a pair of floorstanding speakers. I am looking at the Polk Rti A7. I have read some interesting comments on the power required to power these speakers properly and was curious if anyone had a similar setup or could comment on the likelihood that the yammie will be good enough without pre outs.
Ultimately I am a simpleton who uses the avr for gaming and tv and dvds so I dont think I need super cutting edge.
If my avr isnt strong enough should I just go for the A5's?
Also, I am thinking of holding back on a sub in the interim as I have also read that these speakers do a pretty decent job themselves. I will in time get a new sub though.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
