I'm looking for some nice iPod speakers for my parents. They recently relegated their old NAD hifi system and I hate the lack of music when I see them now. Before you bring suggestions that iPod speakers will never perform, stop. I know that, but they (my mom) didn't like the other system taking up so much space and having to fiddle around with cables for their iPod. I know they'll use it much more if it's a nice simple iPod dock.
I'd love to get the B&W Zeppelin (I have B&W speakers myself and have become quite a partisan) but R6k is pushing it a bit, especially since they need a new iPod as well. The Mini Zeppelin (R4k) is more likely but I think ideally I'd like to set a cap at R3000.
Any nice recommendations? It'll mostly be used at pretty soft volumes but they'd like to be able to turn it up a bit when the occasion demands. Bass not too much of an issue but it needs to be able to fill a room. They'll be playing lots of Dylan, The Beatles, some jazzy type stuff, world, a little bit of classical/opera...
