Optical to 5.1 RCA converter?

Hi all

I'm looking for a converter for a buddy of mine. He doesn't have the money to buy a new AVR, but he does have a speaker system
that can take 5.1 RCA inputs. Now as we all know the PS3 doesn't have that and only has the optical out. So therefore
i was wondering if such a device exists? Or any other options would be welcome.
