I had a rethink about the gadget I made a while ago.
Although there wasn't a problem using the gadget the way it was made first, I thought it better to introduce a small interference fitted bearing into the works. The arm is now totally free to traverse the record without dragging a heavy armcable along. The 'drag' effect is now only caused by the Ortofon arm's original internal armwires.
The bearing is located between the upper aluminium part and the brass component.
