What is the best method to prevent oxidation of the exposed bits of speaker cable?
I was hoping heat shrink that covers the body of say the banana plug and extends onto the cable's insulation will do the trick but I suspect the air trapped in the cavities will be sufficient to start the oxidation process?
If the ends have to be tinned or soldered to the banana plug, what would be the preferred soldering wire and why?
Apologies if this has been covered. I managed to find a post about tarnish removal and suggested cleaning products but nothing on soldering wire etc. Perhaps because soldering wire is just soldering wire :nfi:
Thanks.
