I built an amplifier last week for a friend. It was an opportunity to do what I am usually telling other people to do when they attend DIY workshops. I took some photos. When picasa loads, I'll post them :whistler:
It took me 3 days of about 4 hours per day solid working to finish it. This adds up to about R7200 in labour. This makes the pre-built kit weigh in at about R18k for the complete working amplifier. I'll be able to build one of these, from scratch (roll transformers and assemble) in a week.
When I powered it up, it sounded great. Now I'm building one for my wife :-*
