So our kreepy we replaced in 2013 has not worked properly since we bought it, pool water is clear but the amount of dirt and sand on the bottom on the pool is just horrendous.
So decided to get one of those robot jobbies...Our one family member has bought 2 zodiac mx-8's and said he has had no issues - however i have been doing some research for a while between mx-8 and the new kreepy dominator.
pros and cons
mx-8 R3000, hoses to replace - R95!! new belts R300...this little jobby just seems stupid expensive.
dominator - normal R30 hose anywhere, no need for belt replacements, apparently pics up stones etc etc.
Everyone i speak to (been asking a few pool shops) - swear by the dominator
So we got it, paid R1800 - R2200 at makro - R200 off if you trade-in your old kreepy, and R200 with my ebucks.
So far so good - just a few hours yesterday - pool almost spotless.
and as i walk out of makro, another customer coming in saw it in the trolley, stopped me to tell me we hadn't made a mistake - they have one and its awesome - their son bought the mx-8 and has done nothing but spend money on it...
So research pays, think we made a good choice with this thing. Lets see how it goes.
